The Naismith Player of the Year for both men’s and women’s basketball will be announced today. Finalists for the men are Udoka Azuibuike of Kansas, Myles Powell of Seton Hall, Payton Pritchard of Oregon, Luka Garza of Iowa, and Obi Toppin of Dayton. The women’s finalists are Lauren Cox of Baylor, Tyasha Harris of South Carolina, Rhyne Howard of Kentucky, and Sabrina Ionescu of Oregon.
Ohio State forward Kaleb Wesson said he plans to skip his senior season and enter the NBA draft. The 6-foot-9 Wesson averaged 14 points and 9.3 rebounds per game last year. He is projected as a second-round pick.
