On Wednesday, March 25 and Thursday, March 26, from Noon to 3 each day, we will be collecting non-perishable food to replenish the Chevy Chase Community Center Food Bank. This collection will be OUTDOORS along the front of COLONIAL MOTORS on 4th Street in Indiana. The number of families we have been helping with emergency food boxes and lunches for adults and children has skyrocketed as typically-working families have experienced lay-offs and financial uncertainty.
If you can pick up a few extra items at the store, we have a way for you to donate the items without much, if any, face-to-face contact. You pull up, our gloved volunteers will open your door and take your donation, shut your door and you are on your way!
Suggested items: Pasta, spaghetti sauce, jelly, peanut butter, canned tuna and chicken, coffee, boxed mac & cheese, cereal, soup, juice, but of course all food items will be gratefully accepted.
