Steelers coach Mike McCarthy appreciates the work that Jaylen Ramsey has put in to get himself up to speed after his return from the PUP list. Ramsey practiced for the second day in a row yesterday.
McCarthy says Joey Poryter Jr.’s absence due to a contract impasse isn’t ideal, but with Ramsey back, the secondary is a lot stronger.
The Steelers are practicing only twice this week with the preseason finale coming up tomorrow night at Buffalo. Today is a travel day. The coach says the compressed makes it important that his veterans get their work in.
The Steelers yesterday signed former Pitt defensive back Brandon Hill, a former seventh round draft pick of the Houston Texans who has also been with the Raiders, Broncos, and Bears in three NFL seasons. The Steelers also released wide receiver Joaquin Davis.
