In Senior Legion baseball, Homer City Post 493 has had a tough week, made worse last night when they were swept in a doubleheader by Plum, making it five straight losses for the Bearcats.
Falling behind 5-0 in the first game, Homer City got a couple of run-scoring doubles, by Ben Cowburn and Connor James, but Plum reasserted themselves and led 9-2 before James blasted a grand slam to set the final at 9-6.
In the nightcap, Plum again took a big lead, jumping out 7-0 before Post 493 rebounded, with Max Drew and Brayden Rado driving in three runs, but Plum added five more runs and won 12-3.
With last night’s losses, Homer City is 8-8 on the season.
