The Pirates fell behind early to the Arizona Diamondbacks, and while they clawed their way back, it wasn’t enough. Greg Brown reports.
Pirates Manager Derek Shelton decided to keep Luis Ortiz in the game, having just recently used long-reliever Jake Woodford in a five-inning start on Wednesday. Shelton said that Ortiz was able to pull it together after the disastrous first inning.
The Pirates and the Diamondbacks will play again tonight starting at 6:15 on WCCS.
