Anyone wondering where recent acquisition Isaiah Kiner-Falefa was need only to turn to Altoona. The multi-purpose player was sent to the Curve for a rehab assignment and was in uniform for the team on Friday playing shortstop and batting second. Kiner-Falefa was acquired by the Pirates on July 30th in exchange for Charles McAdoo, but was on the Blue Jays’ injured list with a knee injury.
Speaking of the Curve, they beat Richmond on Friday night 9-3. Bubba Chandler struck out seven batters and allowed three hits and no walks on 91 pitches. Kiner-Falefa was 2-4 at the plate with an RBI. Yoyner Fajardo and Abrahan Gutierrez each had 3 RBI on the day, while Tsung Che-Cheng, Sammy Siani and Dustin Peterson each had one RBI. The two teams will play tonight with Nick Dombkowski starting for the Curve.
