Five fire companies were called out this morning to what turned out to be a minor fire at an apartment complex in White Township.
Indiana county 911 dispatched Indiana, Homer City, Creekside, Aultman and Blairsville fire departments, the county HAZMAT team and Citizens Ambulance at 4:15 this morning to a group of apartments across from the Meadows on Oakland Avenue. However, Indiana assistant fire chief Bob Henry sent the other units back as the fire was limited to a small table. The table took on minor damage, but the fire did not spread. Crews were on the scene for 30 minutes to ventilate the apartment.
Two accidents were reported yesterday by Indiana County 911. They included a crash on Tipperary Road in Green Township at 5:42 PM that injured at least one person. Commodore firefighters, Citizens Ambulance and State Police were dispatched at the time, and Commodore fire crews also set up a landing zone nearby about an hour later.
The other vehicle accident was reported in Brush Valley Township on Route 954 South at 6:43 PM. Homer City and Brush Valley fire departments were called out along with State Police and Citizens’ Ambulance. Further details on both accidents have not been released.
