At the Junior League World Series on Sunday, the Indiana 14U All-Stars beat Little River-Academy, TX 8-4.
Indiana posted four runs in the bottom of the first after Sophia Boyer drew a bases-loaded walk, Madison Twinchek hitting a two-RBI single and Claire Brewer driving in a run on the single. After Texas scored two runs in the top of the 2nd, Boyer went on to hit a solo homer in the 4th inning. In the 5th, Texas would post another run, but Indiana’s Kaitlyn Houser had a solo shot of her own, and Indiana would score another run that inning on an error to make it 7-3. The final run came in the bottom of the 6th with Madison Twinchek grounding out, but Rylee Mahaffey scoring on an error.
Indiana’s Rylee Mahaffey went the distance in the circle, allowing all four runs on 11 hits, striking out six and allowing no walks.
Indiana returns to action today taking on Goodyear, Arizona out of the Western Region at 1:30 Eastern Time.
