A Blairsville man will go before Indiana County President Judge Thomas Bianco today for a plea hearing on charges connected with a chase in April of this year.
25-year-old Jacob Isaiah Hankinson is accused of fleeing police on a motorcycle after state troopers tried to pull him over on April 28th on Marshall Heights Road in Blacklick Township. Police say that after going a short distance, he ditched the motorcycle and tried to flee on foot, but was eventually apprehended. During the chase, he ditched a backpack that had 200 grams of suspected methamphetamine along with marijuana and $1,340 in cash. Along with 11 summary driving counts, he is charged with possession of a controlled substance and of marijuana, possession with intent to deliver, fleeing or eluding police, flight to avoid apprehension, resisting arrest, evading arrest on foot, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and driving on a suspended license.
Also on the schedule for today is a status conference for a Homer City man accused of making meth. The hearing is for 59-year-old George F. Sager, who is charged with operating a meth lab, two counts of depositing or storing chemical waste, possessing ephedrine, possession of a controlled substance and possession with intent to deliver for an incident on December 18th of 2022.
