The Pennsylvania Department of Education is partnering with a national nonprofit organization to help students filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, or FAFSA application.
The department is working with uAspire to form a statewide helpdesk that would be free to students to get help with their applications. FAFSA applications are now at historically low levels due to delays in the application’s release along with processing and data errors. The launch of this new resource will give students a chance to receive the assistance needed that they would not be able to get from their school when it is closed for the summer. The FAFSA application is the sole application for all federal, state and most institutional financial aid in the state, including student loans for people of all income levels.
Students can call 313-723-2372 to access the helpdesk and schedule assistance through a phone call or virtual conference.
