It was quite a battle between Penn Trafford and S.W. Jack in the PA Youth Legion Western Regional yesterday, and PT came away with a come-from-behind win. Jake Slebodnick has the story.
Monroeville beat Titusville to claim the third slot out of the West for the state tournament, which gets underway at First Commonwealth Bank Field on Saturday. Homer City Post 493 will be the host team and round out the bracket.
Here’s the schedule for Saturday’s opening day:
Upper Perkiomen (East Region 1 champ) vs. Monroeville (West #3) – 10 AM
Hamburg (East Region 2 Champ) vs. Penn Trafford (West Champ) – 1 PM
Sunbury-Northumberland (East Region 1 Runner-Up) vs. SW Jack – 4 PM (on Renda Digital TV)
Boyertown (East Regional 2 Champ) vs. Homer City Post 493 (Host) – 7 PM (on Renda Digital TV)
The first day of the tournament will include an appearance by the Pirate Parrot at 6:30 and fireworks to cap off the night at around 9:30, upon the conclusion of the final game.
