Steelers players report to St. Vincent College today with the first practice scheduled tomorrow. The opening of training camp also signals the start of a brief but profitable period for the entire Latrobe community.
The team continues to scour the free agent wire for players. Yesterday, they brought in quarterback Ben DiNucci, who played for Pitt in college before transferring and playing with the Stapleton brothers at James Madison. The Pine-Richland graduate was a seventh-round draft choice of the Dallas Cowboys in 2020. He’s started one NFL game, for the Cowboys against the Steelers. Last season he backed up Russell Wilson with Denver.
Also working out for the Steelers yesterday were wide receivers Tarik Black, Slade Bolden, and Greg Ward Jr. Black has been with the Colts, Jets, and Ravens. Bolden has been with the Ravens, and Ward has played with the Eagles but hasn’t been in an NFL game since 2021.
