PennDOT is also announcing a road closure in Kittanning for the demolition of a building.
The closure will affect a portion of Market Street starting today through August 4th to allow for the safe demolition and removal of debris 206 Market Street. Motorists will use McKean Street, Jacob Street and Jefferson Street as detours.
This is part of the emergency teardown of the McConnell-Waterson Building, which has seen several violations over the years and has had floors collapsing inside the structure.
Another PennDOT project in Armstrong County scheduled to start a bridge replacement project for the structure that carries South Water Street over Cowanshannock Creek in Rural Valley. The bridge will be closed starting Monday through August 7th, with work being weather dependent. PennDOT’s detour will take motorists north on Water Street, west onto Route 85, south onto Margaret Road, east onto Route 2003 and east onto Route 2006, which will return to South Water Street.
This project is being worked on by Thomas Construction of Grove City.
