First responders will be celebrated tonight with a Blue Mass at the Holy Family Parish in Seward.
The annual Blue Mass is not only a tribute to those who serve as police, firefighters and EMT’s, it will also pay tribute to the first responders who perished in the 1977 Johnstown Flood that happened 47 years ago. All who were affected by the flood are invited to attend service and help remember those who suffered and those who helped the community during that disaster.
Following the service, a blessing of first response vehicles, emergency equipment and K-9 officers will be held. The service starts at 7:00 tonight at the church on Bridge Street in Seward. All are welcome.
