Along with last night’s fire in Homer City, there were just a few other calls for first responders over the last 24 hours in Indiana County.
The only other major call was another reported structure fire along Mahoning Road in Cherry Tree Borough. Cherry Tree, Commodore, and Hope Fire Departments were dispatched at 10:55 PM.
Cherry Tree fire officials say that a garage was already burned to the ground by the time crews got there. The fire started just outside the garage. Crews were on-scene for about two hours putting the fire out and performing an extensive overhaul. No injuries were reported.
There were two automatic fire alarms reported yesterday. One was at 3;26 PM along Lions Health Camp Road in Armstrong Township. Indiana fire association members were called out at the time. The other alarm was at 5:17 PM for a property along Route 259 in Brush Valley township. Brush Valley and Armagh Fire Departments were sent by Indiana County 911 at the time.
