Another dual meet win for Marion Center’s girls cross country yesterday, as they defeated West Shamokin 15-50. It was the 52nd straight victory for the Stingers, stretching back to 2010. Homer Center also competed but did not have enough racers to qualify.
The top seven finishers were from Marion Center, led by Mackenzie Walker, with a winning time of 23:16. Emily Risinger was second, and Alyx Cornetto third.
In the boys’ races, Marion Center beat West Shamokin, 15-50 and Homer Center, 19-43. Homer Center beat West Shamokin, 27-30.
The Stingers Hunter Armstrong outdueled Homer Center’s Sam Cunkelman down the stretch beating him by 12 seconds with a time of 18:07. Connor McGrady of Marion Center was third.
