At the PIAA State football playoffs, the Penn Trafford Warriors won their first ever state championship with a 17-14 Overtime win against Imhotep Charter on Friday. The Warriors came from behind and tied the game on a two-yard touchdown pass from backup quarterback and defensive end Conlan Greene to senior tight end Jack Tollie. In overtime, Nathan Schlessinger kicked a 24-yard field goal and then Greene sacked the Imhotep Charter QB on Fourth Down to secure the championship. Cade Yacamelli rushed for 100 yards and a touchdown on the night.
In the other championship game, Southern Columbia High School beat Serra Catholic High School 62-25 in the PIAA class 2A championship.
