Two Indiana County Little League softball teams return to action today in the state tournament.
The ICM 12U team, consisting of players from Indiana, Clymer and Marion Center, open their tournament run against Titusville, who downed Punxsutawney in back-to-back games to clinch a spot in the tournament.
ICM coach George Pavlosky said that his team knows what’s at stake in the playoffs, but they’re also enjoying this unique experience.
Along with the 12U team, Indiana’s 14U all-star team is in the state tournament. Pavlosky said it’s a testament to how softball has grown in the area.
ICM takes the field at 11 o’clock this morning.
Meanwhile, the 14U team is two wins away from the championship, but they have to overcome Springfield tonight at 5, then Corry at 7 to make it. Indiana beat Danville, 20-0, in their first game of the tournament, but fell to a tri-area team in eight innings Tuesday night.
