Capitol Police in Harrisburg evacuated the Pennsylvania State Capitol Complex Saturday afternoon after a threat which claimed there was an explosive compound hidden around the complex and the Pennsylvania Judicial Center. It said the explosives would be triggered periodically “until Joe Biden goes on national television and publicly denounces the illegitimate state of Israel.”
There were few people inside the Capitol at the time, with both the House and Senate having already canceled voting sessions yesterday and today. An email sent to about 250 people at about 5:45 PM had the subject line “My manifesto” and said lead azide, which is highly explosive, was hidden at various locations inside the two buildings and the sender claimed to be hiding inside one of the buildings as well, armed with a knife and intending to remain “to my dying breath.”
People were allowed back into the buildings at around 10:45 after searches found nothing.
