Preliminary hearings are scheduled today for Indiana County’s district courts, including one for a man from Blairsville who is charged in connection with a disturbance in early June.
29-year-old Cameron Boneta is facing charges of reckless endangerment, resisting arrest, prohibited possession of a weapon, carrying a firearm without a license and public drunkenness for the incident on June 5th. Blairsville police said at the time that they were called out to the area of West Iron Alley and South Walnut Street for a report of shots fired. Officers found Boneta at the scene under the influence of alcohol, and he resisted attempts for officers to search him. Once he was in custody, police found in his pocket a 9mm pistol. Police also found five spent 9mm casings at the scene. He will go before District Judge Robert Bell, Sr. this morning.
Also due for a preliminary hearing this morning is 42-year-old Theresa Dorothy Dimmick of Indiana, who is charged with criminal trespass and corruption of minors for a case on June 6th. Indiana Borough Police said she broke into a home in the 300 block of Philadelphia Street, but the property owner found out and called police. Dimmick was still at the home when police arrived, along with two unnamed children. The children were also charged with criminal trespass.
