The Atlantic Coast Conference football championship game will feature the conference’s player of the year.
Pitt’s Kenny Pickett took the honor from a vote of ACC head coaches and media, collecting 52 of a possible 64 votes. Pickett has thrown for more than 4,000 yards this season and his next touchdown pass will set the Pitt career record, passing Dan Marino. The touchdown pass after that will give him the conference record, currently held by Clemson’s Deshaun Watson.
The 15th-ranked Panthers take on No. 16 Wake Forest in Charlotte in the championship game. Both teams are 10-2 and have averaged 43 points scored per game. You’ll hear the contest at 8 pm Saturday night on WCCS.
