Kailer Yamamoto began a barrage of three third-period goals for the Edmonton Oilers as they defeated the Pittsburgh Penguins Wednesday night, 5-2.
It’s the third straight winless game for the Pens and second game of a five-game road trip, four games out west and one in Washington. It also breaks a streak of 19 straight games against the Oilers where the Pens got at least one point in the standings.
Good news is the schedule does get softer. While the Pens have played the top two teams of the Pacific Division to begin this road trip, they’ll now play the bottom of that division when they travel to Vancouver Saturday night followed by their first ever game in Seattle on Monday.
