Since his promotion from Altoona to Indianapolis, Braxton Ashcraft has been spectacular. In his third start last night, Ashcraft threw five innings of shutout ball with two strikeouts in a 3-1 loss to Rochester. He’s given up one earned run in 15-and-a-third innings at Indy.
Altoona’s five-game winning streak is over after a 4-3 loss to Akron in the opener of the second half of the season. The Curve’s Jase Bowen had three hits for the second straight game and Yoyner Fajardo had two hits.
