FOOTBALL
The Pitt Panthers football team beat Syracuse, 31-14, for its tenth win of the season. The Panthers fell behind, 7-0, but Kenny Pickett was 28-for-38 passing for 209 yards and four touchdown passes. In five years, Pickett has thrown 79 TD passes, including a school-record 40 this year. He is tied with Dan Marino for first all-time in Pitt history.
Pitt will play Wake Forest next Saturday with the ACC championship on the line.
Penn State lost to Michigan State, 30-27, in a driving snowstorm in East Lansing, Michigan.
BASKETBALL
The Pitt basketball team lost to UMBC, 87-77.
