Indiana County will receive $148,749 in 2023 Marcellus Shale impact fees, according to figures released last week by the state Public Utility Commission. That’s after the county received $245,542 last year.
The breakdown is $88,317 for roadway impact due to unconventional wells and $60,431 for greenway rehabilitation. Select municipalities within the county will get just over $62,238.
The state will distribute around $179 million in Act 13 impact fees this year, off more than $100 million from the previous year, as gas prices fell and production slowed down. The checks should arrive in mid-July.
