An accused bank robber was sentenced to Indiana County Jail this morning.
29-year-old Dylan Rider of Homer City pleaded guilty last month to charges of robbery-taking money from a financial institution and with fleeing or eluding police for the robbery of the S&T Bank branch last December in Homer City. On December 13th, he passed a note to a teller and walked out with an undisclosed amount of money. He was found later in Wilkinsburg when police pulled his car over. He sped away when police approached and led officers on a chase on Route 22 that ended near Route 119 and Snyder Lane when he collided with a patrol vehicle and tried to flee on foot. Police found money from the robbery in his wallet, and a sawed-off rifle, the clothes from the robbery, replacement hubcaps, a map from his home to the bank and a floorplan to the bank in his car.
He was ordered to serve 11 months to a day less than two years in the county jail for the robbery charge and a year of probation upon his release for the eluding police charge. Other charges he faced were not prosecuted as part of the plea deal.
