The IUP women are 5-0 after yesterday’s 82-58 win over Salem at the KCAC. Leading 36-32 at halftime, IUP went on an 18-2 run in the third quarter as freshman Gina Adams scored 10 points and Courtney Alexander and Maura D’anna each scored six, Alexander’s points coming on two three-pointers.
Adams, D’Anna, and freshman Kiera Baughman each scored 12 points to lead a balanced IUP attack, with Justina Mascara adding 11 and Alexander 10. After hitting seven three-pointers in the first half, Salem had only one the rest of the game as IUP tightened up its perimeter defense.
IUP will play on the road for the first time this season on Sunday, when they visit Ohio Dominican.
IUP MEN
The IUP men will play this weekend in the IUP Thanksgiving Classic. On Saturday, the Crimson Hawks will take on Virginia State. Although Sunday was originally listed as a game against Salem, it is now listed as a team to be announced.
