Penn State coach James Franklin has agreed to a 10-year contract extension, to run through 2031. ESPN reports Franklin will make $7.5 million per year plus incentives. He is 67-32 with the Nittany Lions, winning the Big Ten in 2016, the Fiesta Bowl in 2017, and the Cotton Bowl in 2019.
Pitt quarterback Kenny Pickett is a finalist for the Maxwell Award, given to the best player in all of college football, and the Davey O’Brien National Quarterback Award, given to the nation’s top QB. And wide receiver Jordan Addison was named a finalist yesterday for the Biletnikoff Award, which goes to the most outstanding receiver in the sport. The winners of all three awards will be announced on December 9th.
