The annual First Summit Bank Ken Lantzy All-Star Football Game, featuring this year’s crop of graduate players from around the region, happens tonight at Johnstown’s Trojan Stadium, and we have it on Renda Digital TV. The game is in honor of Ken Lantzy, a Cambria Heights football player who was injured in 1970 in a game and has spent his life since then in a wheelchair.
The coaches this year are Jarrod Lewis of Cambria Heights for the South and Northern Bedford’s Garry Black for the North. Among Lewis’s assistants will be his own Highlanders assistant, Darren McLaurin, and former United Valley coach Kevin Marabito, who retired after last season.
Lewis says it’s a special night for the young men who will suit up for the game, some of whom will be putting on the helmet for the last time.
Lewis says he relishes the chance to coach with Marabito.
Marabito says the Lantzy game will create lifetime memories for the players.
Marabito says it took some convincing to get him back on a sideline.
There are players from the Heritage Conference on both rosters. You can check them out here:
