This (Wednesday) morning, The Indiana County Commissioners approved advertising the 2022 budget, which will keep taxes the same for Indiana County Residents.
The county projects expenditures to come to $46,191,969, while revenues will come in at $41,975,089, leaving a funding gap of $4,216,880. County Budget Director Lisa Gregersen talks about how that gap will be filled.
One item that will not be a part of next year’s budget will be the $5 per capita tax, as that will not be collected next year. Commissioner Robin Gorman said that she felt that the tax had become a nuisance.
The budget will be approved at their next meeting, which is set for December 15th. That will be the only voting meeting of the month for the county commissioners.
In other business, the commissioners approved a $50,000 Cares Act Revolving Loan Fund loan to Clark Metal Products in Blairsville. The proceeds from the loan will be used as working capital to pay for expenses like payroll, utilities, and inventory to help ease the economic burden from the Covid-19 pandemic.
