The Marion Center School District is preparing a grant application to receiver ESSER funding to address learning recovery and the impact of covid-19. The district is asking residents to fill out a survey as part of the process.
ESSER stands for “Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief Funds.” They are grants for one-time or short-term expenditures to address learning complications incurred during the pandemic. The grant awards must be spent prior to September of 2024.
The survey, which is available at the district’s website, mcasd.net, seeks feedback from district and community stakeholders to “help determine how to use the funds to address learning gaps, social-emotional concerns, barriers in technology, continued mitigation strategies, and other impacts of covid-19.” It asks respondents to choose three options from a list of perceived needs and it also includes a section allowing for written input.
The districts would like to receive the survey on or before this Friday.
