A preliminary hearing is set for today for a Homer City woman charged simple assault and related crimes.
Court documents show that 56-year-old Denise Renee Eastman will go before District Judge Christopher Welch in Clymer today for two hearings. One case is from September 13th, where she was charged with two misdemeanor counts intimidation of witnesses, and single charges of misdemeanor simple assault, endangering the welfare of children and escape, along with a summary count of harassment. The other case is from September 12th where she was charged with a lone count of misdemeanor false reports.
Also due for a preliminary hearing is 70-year-old Lewis Martin Alabran of Smickburg. He faces 36 counts aggravated indecent assault of a child, including 12 counts of assaulting someone under 13 and 12 counts of assaulting someone under 16 years of age. He also faces 12 counts of indecent assault, and single counts of indecent assault of someone under 13 and corruption of minors. The incidents go back to August 1st of this year. His case will go before district judge Christopher Welch this morning.
