Several criminal call hearings will be held today in Indiana County Court, including one for a Homer City man charged in an incident where he scattered rubbish and threatened people.
State Troopers charged 24-year-old Mark McCloskey of Homer City with evading arrest, terroristic threats, criminal trespass and scattering rubbish for an incident in Buffington Township on December 5th of last year. Troopers were called out to the home on Route 403 for a report of a man throwing trash around, including scattering nails on the roadway. When police confronted him, he allegedly threatened to slit their throats before fleeing. He was eventually found hiding in the second story of a nearby barn.
Also due for criminal call hearings today is 50-year-old James William Taylor of Indiana. He is charged in two cases with operating a meth lab, deposit or storing chemical waste, possession of precursor ingredients, knowingly possessing ephedrine and of drug paraphernalia and possession with intent to deliver. The cases date back to June 22nd, 2021 and August 23rd, 2022.
Criminal Call is designed to update the court and the parties involved on the progress of a case. Proceedings are usually postponed to a later date, but on occasion, guilty pleas have been entered at the Criminal Call phase.
