One person was arrested after resisting arrest during an incident Wednesday evening in Blairsville Borough.
Police say at 9:19 p.m., they were dispatched to the area of West Iron Alley and South Walnut Street for a report of shots fired. Officers also report that they heard five gunshots before the dispatch call went out.
When they arrived, they found 29-year-old Cameron Boneta under the influence of alcohol. They frisked Boneta after noticing something in the pockets of his shorts, which turned out to be a 9 mm pistol. They add it appeared to have been recently discharged.
Boneta resisted officers when they attempted to place him in the patrol vehicle and once they were able to get him inside, they searched the area and found five empty casings.
Boneta was charged with carrying firearms without a license, possessing instruments of crime, recklessly endangering another person, resisting arrest, and public drunkenness. He was taken to Indiana County Jail and is awaiting arraignment.
