Multiple fire departments were called out early this morning for a fire in West Wheatfield Township.
Indiana County 911 reported the incident at 12:30 this morning on High Street in Robinson. Bolviar, Clyde, Fairfield Township and New Florence fire departments were initially dispatched along with the RIT Team and Citizens’ Ambulance. Armagh Fire Department was called in for standby detail for Clyde fire department at 1:06 this morning, and at 1:22, Black Lick fire department was dispatched for additional manpower.
John Speidel said the two-story home was mostly involved by the time fire crews got there. They were able to knock the fire down from the outside and then go inside to “mop up”. While the family got out safely, two dogs were lost in the fire. The structure was gutted. The family is staying with nearby relatives. The American Red Cross has been asked to help the family.
No word yet on the cause of the fire, but State Police Fire Marshals are investigating.
