The IUP Crimson Hawks visit West Chester tomorrow afternoon to wrap up the season. It’s a noon kickoff on 92.5 FM U92. IUP is 6-3 and West Chester 6-4.
BASKETBALL
As football comes to a close, the IUP basketball teams open their seasons this weekend at the KCAC.
The men open play tonight in the IRMC/Hilton Garden Inn Classic. The action opens at 5:15 with UPJ playing Concord, and at 7:30, IUP takes on West Virginia Wesleyan. Tomorrow, UPJ will play West Virginia Wesleyan at 5:15 and IUP will tip off against Concord at around 7:30.
IUP coach Joe Lombardi says it will be great to be back in action.
Tonight’s game will air on WDAD, FM 100.3 and AM 1450, at about 7:15. Tomorrow’s IUP game will be on 92.5 FM U92 and the U92 Sportschannel, also at about 7:15.
In women’s play this weekend, the PSAC/CIAA Challenge opens play tomorrow afternoon at noon with Seton Hill playing Livingstone and IUP tipping off at two against Virginia State.
On Sunday, Seton Hill plays Virginia State at 1 and IUP will play Livingstone at 3.
SOCCER
Four IUP women’s soccer players have been named to the All-PSAC West team, including defender Cassidy Zandier and forward Hannah Scardina, the sophomore out of Indiana High. They were both named to the first team. Forward Mahogany Willis and defender Abby lewis were named to the second team.
