After Tuesday’s embarrassing season-opening loss to The Citadel, Pitt coach Jeff Capel’s week got even worse yesterday when his top recruit for next season, four-star shooting guard Judah Mintz, de-committed on the first day of the early signing period. Not only was he the top recruit, he was Capel’s only recruit for 2022.
Mintz tweeted that he had to do what was best for himself and thanked Capel and his staff for their “care, concern, and respect”. He will play his senior season at Oak Hill Academy in Virginia. He’s the 14th-rated shooting guard in the nation by Rivals.com, and the 68th-best player overall.
Pitt plays at West Virginia tomorrow night.
