WHAT WE FIRST REPORTED
A Clymer man accused of not supplying home improvement services to those who contracted him for it will have a preliminary hearing today.
The hearing for 41-year-old William Edward Luzier is scheduled for 9:30 this morning in front of District Judge Suzanne Steffee. State police have charged him with making false statements to induce agreement for home improvement services, failure to perform services he received payment for, and theft by deception for an investigation that went back to December 15th of last year. A man from Graceton paid Luzier’s company $7,125, which was an 80% down payment for a job to repair gutters and other small tasks around the house that were to have been completed in a timely manner. Police said that Luzier cashed the check and made no effort to even start the job, and stopped responding to the victim when he wrote to him about the project.
Also due for a preliminary hearing today is Ryan Poorbaugh of Creekside who is charged with two counts each of prohibited possession of a firearm and carrying a firearm without a license for an incident on April 14th, and Patrick Reese II of Josephine for simple assault and harassment for an investigation on May 13th.
