STATE POLICE-INDIANA
State police have charged one man with criminal mischief for an incident on October 30th where he shot out a window in an East Wheatfield Township home. Trooper say they were dispatched at 1:45 PM during a shooting incident involving 31-year-old Kevin Cooper, Jr. of Seward and an un-named 39-year-old Seward man. On top of the window, Cooper was not allowed to possess a firearm due to his prior criminal record, and he also had active warrants out for his arrest. He was taken into custody and placed in Indiana County Jail, and the firearms involved were seized. Police value the broken window at $185. He remains in Indiana County Jail as he was unable to post $25,000 straight cash bail. A preliminary hearing has been set for November 15th.
No injuries were reported in a hit-and-run crash on Saturday in East Wheatfield Township. Police say that the crash happened on Shellbark Road near Fox Road. 22-year-old Madelyn Suchonic of Armagh was driving west and was approaching the intersection when the car swerved off the left side of the road. It continued off the road until it hit an embankment. The car was disabled. Suchonic was charged with not immediately notifying police of the accident.
