Even though Altoona had the power of Oat Milk behind them last night, it was not enough to beat the Portland Sea Dogs as the Curve lost 8-6 in 10 innings.
Joe Perez of the Curve had a grand slam home run in the 8th inning, followed by a Carter Bins solo shot to help the Curve come back and eventually take the lead, but Kyle Teel of Portland tied it with a solo shot of his own in the 9th. In the 10th, Portland put two on the board to take the lead for good.
Braxton Ashcraft was dominant in the start for Altoona, allowing just one run on three hits in 6.0 innings of work. He struck out seven batters and surrendered an RBI-single in the fourth inning to Nick Yorke as his only blemish.
The two teams play again tonight, with Po-Yu Chen starting for the Curve. CJ Liu will start for Portland.
