PSP-PUNXSUTAWNEY
A Cherry Tree man who was wanted on multiple warrants was apprehended Wednesday in Clearfield County.
State Police from the Punxsutawney Barracks were called out to the area of West River Road and Main Street in Burnside Borough at 10:11 AM to try and find 30-year-old Cody Schmoke. They found him in a camper in the area. When he refused to comply with verbal commands, Schmoke left the camper and tried to flee on foot. He was quickly apprehended following a brief chase and taken to Clearfield County Jail. Police were able to recover several firearms in the camper.
In Clearfield County, he is facing a charge of harassment, and is also accused of failing to comply with Meghan’s Law.
PSP-KITTANNING
A woman from Home was hurt in a crash in Armstrong County last Tuesday.
State Police from the Kittanning Barracks say the crash happened at 10 AM on Route 85 just east of Coulter Road in Cowanshannock Township. The victim, identified as 67-year-old Brenda McCoy, was driving when a deer came out on the roadway. After hitting the deer, her SUV came to a stop. The vehicle took on some damage and had to be towed. McCoy had suspected minor injuries and was evaluated on-scene by Citizens Ambulance.
