UPDATE: Daron Reel, Jr. was ordered to serve four years and nine months to 10 years in State Prison for his guilty plea to a charge of Robbery-Inflicting Serious Injury.

In Indiana County Court today, one of the men charged with the armed robbery of the residents of two rental properties near IUP in 2020 will be sentenced.
The sentencing hearing for 20-year-old Daron Reel, Jr. of Philadelphia will be held this morning in the courtroom of Judge Michael Clark. Reel was one of four people involved in the Valentine’s Day 2020 shooting and robbery at neighboring rental properties in the 800 block of Wayne Avenue. Police say Reel, along with Nafis Harper, Samuel Wilson and Mamadi Saccoh, all of Philadelphia were involved in the burglaries, but Reel allegedly shot one of the victims. The victim survived his injuries.
Reel pleaded guilty only one count of robbery-inflicting serious bodily injury on August 16th of this year. The other charges, which included attempted criminal homicide, other counts of robbery, theft, aggravated assault and conspiracy, were not prosecuted.
Harper is due for a plea court hearing on December 2nd. Wilson and Saccoh are due for criminal call on December 3rd.
Sentencing is also scheduled for 49-year-old Monte McMasters of Indiana, who entered a guilty plea of carrying a firearm without a license. He was charged with misdemeanor simple assault, reckless endangerment, terroristic threats, harassment, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness for the incident that happened on June 27th of 2019.
