PennDOT announced on Wednesday that the state is investing nearly $10 million in projects at 10 public-use airports and a portion of those funds will go to two local airports for improving facilities, infrastructure, and development.
According to a news release, Arnold Palmer Regional Airport will receive $2.4 million to expand the terminal and upgrade the Transportation Security Administration screening area, and John Murtha Johnstown-Cambria County Airport will receive $1.1 million for the site preparation of a new hangar.
PennDOT Secretary Mike Carroll called the investments “another example of Governor [Josh] Shapiro’s focus on maintaining our infrastructure while also expanding regional business opportunities.” He adds the state’s aviation industry provides good-paying jobs to more than 226,000 Pennsylvania residents.
