As a result of last night’s storms and the 4.25″ of rain measured at First Commonwealth Bank Field in Center Township, the Senior Legion Division 2 Sub Regionals have been pushed back a day and the three games will now be played on Sunday, same times at 1, 4 and 7 pm and Sunday’s 2 pm game will now be played Monday at 7 pm.
Sunday’s schedule has Marion Center taking on Curwensville at one o’clock, followed by Portage against Curwensville at 4 and Marion Center against Portage at 7. The team which emerges with the best record from Sunday’s Round Robin will play the best team from the Somerset Sub Regional on Monday at 7 PM.
With First Commonwealth Bank Field slated to host the Youth Legion Regional Tournament next weekend and the state tournament the following weekend, officials don’t want to damage the field by playing on it while it’s so wet. They hope that tomorrow’s predicted sunny weather will help them get the field ready for the action on Sunday.
