A young man who got his start on the stages of the River Valley high school and went viral for his singing prowess will make his television debut today as part of an ensemble cast of a sitcom reboot.
Adrian Escalona is part of the cast of the sitcom “Head of the Class,” which debuts today on the HBO Max streaming service. Escalona was on stage many times in school before he gained national attention when a video of him singing “She Used To Be Mine” from the musical “Waitress” went viral and caught the attention of the Broadway show’s cast and songwriter Sarah Berelles. Adrian also was an opening act for one of the B.E. Taylor Christmas Concerts in Indiana.
Escalona talked with us about the differences between working on stage and working on a TV show.
He is also hopeful that the series continues or he finds other work in his “dream job” of acting.
