The Youth Legion championship series is set to begin tonight, after Brookville last night eliminated SW Jack of Indiana, 5-2 to take that series, two games to one. Brookville’s Cole Labenne tossed a complete game, striking out one, while collecting two hits at the plate. His teammate Chase Palmer had three hits.
Brookville had taken a 3-0 first-inning lead on Tuesday night before the game was stopped by rain. When play resumed last night, it was the Blue Sox defense that led the way, as they turned three double plays, including a DP for the final two outs of the game.
Zach Eisenhower had three hits for SW Jack.
Top-seeded Armstrong eliminated Punxsutawney two games to none in the other half of the four-team bracket.
