On Hawk Talk on U92 last night, IUP coach Paul Tortorella reviewed Saturday’s loss to Edinboro and said one of the chief culprits was ineffectiveness in the red zone.
IUP had plenty of opportunities to get the ball into the end zone from inside the 20 but couldn’t make it happen.
After beating Slippery Rock on October 16th, IUP has lost to Cal and Edinboro after holding second half leads. The 5-3 Crimson Hawks visit 4-5 Seton Hill on Saturday.

Pitt coach Pat Narduzzi spent a good portion of his news conference yesterday dissecting coaching decisions made during Saturday’s loss to Miami. Narduzzi said he didn’t prepare well for Miami’s bubble screens and he questioned his own decision to punt rather than go for a fourth-and-three from Miami’s 45-yard line. He even wondered whether he should have had his scout team talk trash to his regulars in practice last week, because he knew Miami does that.
As for this Saturday’s game, Narduzzi says 3-5 Duke can move the ball and play some defense. And it’s a tough place to play.
Narduzzi said the official claimed he couldn’t call an obvious safety against Miami Saturday because he couldn’t see the play. He said, “Coaches coach. Players play. Officials officiate,” adding that he can’t control everything. He has sent several plays to the ACC office for review.
