Athletes from the Heritage Conference schools and from Indiana Area (in the WPIAL) will be competing today and tomorrow in the PIAA track and field championships at Shippensburg University.
Among the athletes competing from Indiana County schools in AA are the Purchase Line girls 4-by-400 and 4-by-800 relay teams, River Valley’s Sara McConnell and United’s Maya Ressler in the high jump, River Valley’s Emily Jackson in both the discus and shot put, and United’s Katlynne Miller in discus.
Boys AA athletes include the United 4-by-400 and 4-by-800 relay teams, Marion Center’s Evan Risinger in the pole vault, Penns Manor’s Alex Polenick, who is the top seed in discus and the second seed in shot put, and Purchase Line’s John Elick in the javelin.
In AAA, Indiana’s Stanford Webb will compete in the long jump.
