Sentencing hearings are set for today in Indiana County Court, including a man who was charged in connection with an incident in Clymer earlier this year.
According to court documents, 31-year-old Russell Lee Reynolds of New Alexandria is due before President Judge Thomas Bianco for sentencing today. He was originally charged with criminal mischief, simple assault, disorderly conduct and harassment connected with a fight in Clymer on the morning of May 28th.
Police at the time said Reynolds got in an altercation with an unidentified man out of Clymer and Reynolds hit the back of a Volkswagen Jetta belonging to an unnamed woman with a shovel and a propane tank. Both men also made death threats to each other. Reynolds told police that he had been hit with a beer bottle, and that started the fight.
Police estimated that more than $5000 in damage was done to the car.
On August 30th, Reynolds entered a guilty plea to simple assault and criminal mischief, while the other two charges were not prosecuted.
Reynolds will also be sentenced today for an incident on March 5th of this year. In that case, he was charged with terroristic threats, harassment and disorderly conduct. He pleaded guilty to terroristic threats and harassment.
Another person due for sentencing today is a 24-year-old Home woman who was charged with endangering the welfare of a child. State police filed charges against Ellie May McCausland on March 5th of this year for an incident reported three days earlier when her son turned blue and fell unresponsive that night. The child’s uncle, Tim McCausland, called 911 at that time. The child suffered from an overdose of opiates. The child was given an intravenous dose of naloxone to help regain consciousness and was eventually taken to Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh.
On August 30th, Ellie May McCausland pleaded guilty to a charge of child endangerment.
