State police say a burglary/assault case that began in March originally resulted in felony charges against an Indiana man, but a check of court records indicates that those charges have been dismissed. The 50-year-old man still has two felony DUI cases against him in Indiana County Court.
The investigation into the burglary began at a home along Colonial Drive in White Township and the victim was a 55-year-old woman. They report that $500 cash was taken from a coffee table and $600 damage was done to an apartment door. Originally, they charged the suspect with felony burglary and robbery, along with misdemeanor criminal trespass, theft, and simple assault, and several summary violations.
The man remains in the Indiana County Jail for the DUI cases, one of which is from April of last year and the other from June. The most recent case is listed as his third DUI offense.
Police also investigated damage done to a vehicle parked at the White Township Walmart last week, and they report the arrest of a 19-year-old Rural Valley man who was pulled over for a traffic violation in Plumville last Thursday.
